The mission of the HUB is to provide impactful support to small, disadvantaged business enterprises, minority, women-owned, and veteran-owned businesses that wish to create and grow profitable, scalable, and sustainable business ventures. The HUB promotes economic empowerment through entrepreneurship education and business development.

Dr. Tamara Colvin
Director, Fayetteville – Cumberland Regional Entrepreneur & Business HUB
Tamara Colvin is the Fayetteville Cumberland Regional Entrepreneur Business HUB and Economic Development Director. The HUB promotes economic empowerment through entrepreneurship training, strategic partnerships, and business development. As the director of the HUB, Tamara is responsible for strategic and operational leadership to provide impactful support to emerging entrepreneurs and existing small businesses that wish to create and grow profitable and sustainable business ventures.
Tamara brings over 15 years of business development and entrepreneurial leadership experience to Fayetteville Cumberland Regional Entrepreneur Business HUB. She managed the center's operations in her previous position as the Veterans Business Outreach Center Director (VBOC). She was responsible for entrepreneurial development and support for the military community to increase the number of veteran-owned businesses in North Carolina. During her tenure, Tamara and her team had helped businesses create and retain over 740 full and part-time jobs and obtain eight million in capital. Under Tamara's leadership, the Veterans Business Outreach Center was named the 2020 National Veterans Business Outreach Center of Excellence by the US Small Business Administration. Before the VBOC director position, Tamara was the director of the Small Business Center at Fayetteville Technical Community College. She received multiple awards at the state and national levels for her leadership during her tenure.
Tamara received her BA degree from Fayetteville State University, her master’s degree in human resource administration from Central Michigan University, and her Doctorate in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina Charlotte. She serves on community and economic development boards.
Peyton Lucas
Administrative Support, Fayetteville – Cumberland Regional Entrepreneur & Business HUB
Peyton Lucas provides administrative and event support to the Fayetteville – Cumberland Regional Entrepreneur & Business Hub. Before joining Fayetteville – Cumberland Regional Entrepreneur & Business HUB, Peyton worked in Retail Management and provided administrative support at a long-term care facility. Peyton holds an associate degree in cosmetology from Fayetteville Technical Community College in Fayetteville, NC.
Rebecca Sappington
Program Coordinator, Fayetteville – Cumberland Regional Entrepreneur & Business HUB
Rebecca Sappington provides administrative support to the director of Fayetteville – Cumberland Regional Entrepreneur and Business HUB, including, but not limited to, managing documents and reports, developing programming, and student consulting projects. Before joining the Fayetteville – Cumberland Regional Entrepreneur and Business HUB, Rebecca was a graduate assistant for data analytics and enterprise resource planning classes. Rebecca holds an SAP certification, has won two national competitions with her Enactus team, and has placed in the 2022 NASA MITTIC competition.
Rebecca holds a master’s in business administration focusing on Management from Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville, NC.
